Heartland STEAM

Heartland S.T.E.A.M. is a regional seminar for the officers and members of the heartland region (MRO) motorcycle rights organizations, the AMA, and the MRF. The heartland region consists of Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. S.T.E.A.M. stands for “Seminar to Educate and Motivate”. Its purpose is to help educate states MRO officers and members how to work with and be leaders in the political arena. The seminar also brings together the various states MROs to encourage discussion on political issues pertaining to Motorcycle rights. These discussions provide insight to those states fighting those issues in their legislatures and gives them fresh ideas and the motivation to deal with them.  Heartland S.T.E.A.M. takes place in the spring. Timing is determined by a general consensus of the attending state coordinators and directors.  Each year a different state takes its turn hosting the seminar. The states are asked to each teach a workshop if possible.

The seminar is open to all motorcyclists. There is a charge for attending the workshops, which covers the cost of the banquet. Attendees are responsible for the costs of their hotel rooms. Hotel room reservations are to be made at the host hotel. Information for the seminar can be obtained from the hosting state MRO.

The format for the seminar is similar to Iowa S.T.E.A.M. with registration and hospitality on Friday night. Saturday there is registration, an early bird workshop, and a general session with speakers and the various states MRO’s and national organizations reporting on their activities, more workshops followed by the banquet and a silent and live auction.  The seminar ends on Sunday morning with another general session. Everyone is encouraged to attend Heartland S.T.E.A.M. As this is a regional seminar it’s a great way to meet and to learn from our brothers and sisters from our surrounding states.
